Although keeping children out of school may initially sound risky, many brave hearts in recent times have taken the plunge and to their surprise and satisfaction found that in the final analysis their decision was rewarded with a wholesome personality in their children. Their initial reasons may have been ideological or romantic but along the way they have been proved right. In the past ten years the tribe of home educating parents has been steadily increasing that India now has an exclusive website dedicated to the cause and many support structures have sprung up in small and big towns. A few home educated children have even gone on to publish their experience as a self directed home learner.
